Great game against South Muskoka
The Parry Sound Local League Team #1 faced off against the South Muskoka HRC Insurance for the second time this season.
The game started off in the Shamrocks zone but for the most part around the parimeter with very few pucks getting through. As the period went on the Shamrocks were able to get to the South Muskoka zone. At the 7:45 mark of the first period, after a excellent shift by the forwards, Bryce Norton took a shot that hit a South Muskoka skate and went into the net, assists going to Mackinnley Mann and Carson Healey. Shamrocks continued the pressure with another goal late in the period by Healey that trickled in, assists going to Chad Herbert and Mackinnley Mann.
The second period South Muskoka applied some pressure holding off the Shamrocks and were able to create a chance in the neutral zone and scoring what turned out to be their only goal. The Shamrocks were able to answer back 3 minutes later with a goal be Herbert, assisted by Merrick Mann.
The third period the Shamrocks finished off the game with four unanswered goals by Herbert (3) and Riley MacLean, assists going to Julian Smith, Derien Smith, Simon Norton, Merrick Mann, Drew Bloor, and Wyatt Salt.
With every player getting a point on the roster, this was one of the better games played this season by this group! Great Job Guys!!
Next game will be Saturday, January 2 in Parry Sound at the Bobby Orr Community Centre at 2:15pm against Huntsville Tasso Lake.
Most of the the team will be at Orr's Fine Meats at different times on the corner of River Street and Bowes Street in Parry Sound tomorrow (Dec 13) helping to sell, and helping to load Christmas Trees as a fundraising effort to help pay for the tournament in Penetang on Valentines Day.
