Last Regular Season Game for 2015-16
Parry Sound Local League Team 1 travelled to Huntsville to play their last game of the season.
The Shamrocks played another strong game against Huntsville Tasso Lake. Going into the game the two teams each have one win, one tie and one loss. This game would be another close one.
The first period the Shamrocks seemed to have a jump and controlled the puck down low until a small break down and a goal by Tasso Lake late in the first.
The second period the Shamrocks took the foot off the gas a little and Tasso Lake had a few more chances scoring on one of them early in the second. This seemed to wake up the Shamrocks and very late in the third the Shamrocks applied pressure and scored two very quick goals. The first with 18 seconds remaining by Bryce Norton and the second with 1 second left on the clock, Drew Bloor shot a laser beam bar down to tie the game with the assist going to Carson Healey.
The third period was played very well defensivly by the Shamrocks but were not able to get a good foot hold into the offensive zone or many chances. Chad Herbert brook free on a breakaway with 1:15 remaining but was unable to put the puck in the net.
The game ended in a tie. Putting an end to a great Regular Season finishing in a tight race at 4th. The silver lining is the schedule for the 4th place team is a good one!
Next game is in the final play down tournament in Bracebridge on March 5th at 12 noon against South Muskoka HRC Insurance. Then again at 4pm against the Almaguin Ice Devils. With two strong games the Shamrocks could advance to the semi-finals on Sunday morning. Go Shamrocks Go!!
