Season Starts the Saturday in Burks Falls against the Almaguin Ice Devils at 12 noon.
Hello Everyone,
Just so we are all on the the same page, please read the following basic rules for the team this season. As this will be our first game, please be there at least 60 min before the game so the coaching staff can get organized, discuss warm up and get organized. If you can not make the game please let me know ASAP
I'm looking forward to Saturday!
Team Rules
1. Parents are required to let me know asap if your child will be absent for any games. The team numbers are ok but in the event we have to cancel, we will need plenty of time to do so.
2. All parents are asked to be out of the dressing room once their child is dressed. The child should remain sitting until we are ready to go on the ice. I would like to have a talk with the team before each game to go over a team plan and to set lines etc.
3. Parents are asked to not enter the dressing room after a game until the game summary by the coaching staff has been addressed with the players/team. Coaching staff will open the door to let everyone in...it wont take to long
4. Players are to arrive at the rink 60min before scheduled ice time.
5. Please adhere to outlined dress codes.
- Nice shirt /sweater and/or tie
- Neat and tidy dress (no ripped jeans, poorly maintained shoes or hats)
- Players are to at all times demonstrate respect for each other, their Coaches, other parents, the Parry Sound Hockey Club and the team’s opponents.
6. Parents are requested to follow the 24 hour rule. This means that should a parent or player have a concern regarding an issue related to the team that causes them anxiety, anger or distress, they are requested to take at least 24 hours after the incident prior to contacting the coach.
Game jerseys will be collected after each and every game by the Team Coaching Staff
My Coaching Philosophy (in a nut shell)
Winning is fun, but not at all costs. I would rather see a player/team improve though out the year and develop a life long love of the game of hockey. There are so many positive lessons to learn being a member of a team , including sportsmanship and fair play. My coaching philosophy remains the same no matter what level the players are at, make sure the players are having fun.
I can not guarantee exact amounts of ice time. however I will be rolling lines and taking turns. Each player will hopefully have an opportunity to play in all the games situations this season.
See everyone on Saturday
