Shamrock Tykes Play Huntsville Otters
The Parry Sound Tyke Shamrock team played their second game
of the season (for most, their second game in their life) against the seasoned
Huntsville Otters.
Again, the parking lot was packed with enthusiastic parents, family and friends. Although the goalie, Jake Pennington, improved immensely from the first game, The Otters were able to get 3 pucks past him by the end of the first.
In the second period, Cody Rochon was able to control a loose puck, skate from one end of the rink to the other without anyone catching him. With fans cheering, Cody’s shot was fierce and he scored our only goal for the game.
By the end of the game, The Otters won 7-1 however the score doesn’t reflect the hard work and the commitment the defense players had during the whole game. Skylar Penfold and Fern Harrison-Doherty had a particularly strong game. Our next game on Sunday, January 22nd is bound to be another tough one against the South Muskoka Bears.
