What is U9-MD?
The U9 MD (Minor Development) program is a hockey category for players under 9 years old that our Club is introducing for the 2025-2026 hockey season.

The U9 MD program is designed around skill development rather than competitive play. The program consists of four levels of instruction, designed specifically for young hockey players. Each level features practice plans that follow a defined progression path, introducing and refining skills in skating, puck control, passing, and shooting.

The U9 MD program represents a shift from early competitive hockey toward development-focused programming that prioritizes skill building, fun, and appropriate progression for young players. This approach aligns with modern understanding of youth sport development and aims to create a foundation for players to enjoy hockey throughout their lives.

To be considered/try-out for the U9MD team, there is a $100 fee.

The Club is excited to share that Chris Stanley, of CS 79 Hockey, has been selected as the Coach for this inaugural program.
