To those interested in Refereeing for the 2021-2022 Season
Submitted By Stephanie Earley on Sunday, September 12, 2021
We appreciate the valuable contribution our Referees make to our Hockey Club and in turn our Community, so on behalf of the Parry Sound Hockey Club we are looking to encourage and help any of those interested in Refereeing at the Parry Sound Hockey Club and for the upcoming season -  we have now put into place a multi parted program to extend our help.

1 )  For those who are interested in becoming a new Referee for the Parry Sound Hockey Club in the 2021-2022 Season, we will reimburse you for any required/related fees for certifications completed prior to, or during, the current season.

2 )  For currently or previously Certified Referees who may be returning for the 2021-2022 Season and would be Refereeing for the Parry Sound Hockey Club during the 2021-2022 Season, we will reimburse you for your fees for required re-certifications completed prior to, or during, the current season.

3 ) In support of the Referees as part of the MPS ( Muskoka Parry Sound ), the Parry Sound Hockey Club had already voted in favour of an increase of Referee fees for games, which has been passed and will be coming into effect for the current season.

As we know, the current season will continue to be a more challenging one with already some of it's own complexities, so to further thank and somewhat compensate our Referees as best we can, for any of those participating at the Parry Sound Hockey Club we will be matching the increase provided through the MPS. So in addition to the MPS increase,  we will be offering an additional top up for the current season. This is in order to further aid and thank our referees who would be participating at and for the Parry Sound Hockey Club. Those interested can reach out to our Parry Sound Hockey Club Secretary - Stephanie at
[email protected], for the related details and any other information.

4 ) Also in support of the Referees and their valuable contribution to our club, as an enhancement to the already in place OMHA and Parry Sound Hockey Club "Respect In Sport" program we will also be bringing into affect a full Zero-Tolerance extension/expansion of the policy with regards to the abuse of officials - be it on or off the ice. Which, along with the existing criteria under the "Respect in Sport" Program, the Parry Sound Hockey Club will plan to enforce this even more tightly in order to continue to ensure the safety of the many great Referees who participate on behalf of our Hockey Club.

On behalf of the Parry Sound Hockey Club we extend our many great thanks to our many Referees, both existing and new, who will be joining us for the current season. Thank you in advance for all of your help and support of our Hockey Club - past, present, and future.

Thanks,
Dan
