Please visit this page to register.

If you have not yet signed up to the mailing list for the AGM, please do so ASAP.  We are only sending invitations (Invitations sent on Aug 22 - check your spam folder) to the people on this mailing list.  Please have each of your child's Hockey Canada ID ready to put on this form.  It will appear on your Registration Receipt/Invoice after you have completed registering all of your children.

c)Presentation from Local League Director
  • Summary - Regardless of placing, all teams/players had a very successful season

  • Minor Novice, and Major Novice were moved under the Local League umbrella this season

    • Thank you to coaches and volunteers for these groups as this season was very different then past seasons.

    • Great job!

    • Sifft Electric B Champions

  • Peewee - Gibson Home and Cottage

    • Due to the make up of this age group this season, our Peewees placed in the A division but didn't make the finals.

    • This team was very successful, they were entirely built up from first year players with the second year peewees moving up to bantam division.

  • Atom - McNabb Home Building

    • This team was unfortunately large in numbers, as there was not enough to split into two teams.

    • Still a successful season, fun was had by all

    • This team pulled it all together to win the B Champion!  Great Job!

  • Away Tournaments

    • All but one team traveled to at least one away tournament.

    • Several teams attended, or planned on attending two away tournaments.

    • Two bantam teams and our novice team did not get to attend their second tournament due to COVID season cancellation

      • Parry Sound (Muskoka Auto Parts won the Midget Championship

      • Parry Sound Auto Parts won the bantam championship.

    • The money raised from these tournaments provided most of the funding requirements for all teams away tournaments and team activities

    • All local league teams were in good financial standing at season's end.

  • MPSLL update

    • iPad - Digital Game Sheets - Local League is/was heading in that direction

    • This will drastically decrease volunteer time

      • Tracking stats to help with awards at seasons end

      • Player and Team penalty minutes, which is a necessity component to help with player accountability

      • Eliminate the need for tracking down game sheets, and mailing game sheets - games sheet will not go missing

d)Presentation from IP Director
The Free Mite Initiative
Offering free registration and free equipment for children aged 4-6 who reside
within the Parry Sound Hockey Club boundaries, with the belief that by removing
the financial risk to parents in enrolling young children in hockey, more children
will become involved in our hockey club.

YEAR 1 - 2017/18 SEASON
---June 4th, 2017 - Held a sizing and registration day at 4 Sports and
with such a great response continued to size/register kids throughout
the summer.
---All children registered received head to toe equipment including
helmet, skates and a stick taped to their favourite colour.
---60 children registered. This number is up from the 13 children
attending Mite in 2016/17 prior to the Free initiative.
---59 children fell within our geographic boundary, 1 child participated
from outside the boundary and paid the full $350 registration, but did
get use of a set of equipment.
---4 children from the initial 60 registrants moved directly to our tyke
program and paid the fee of $350.00
---The program began on October 7. The majority of the sessions took
place on Saturdays at 8 am and Sundays at 11 am. A total of 31 ice
---The season was divided into two sessions. The first session from
October 7th to December 17th was offered for free. If a player
wanted to continue their season for the second half (Dec 17 – Mar.
25) a fee of $100 payable to the club was required.
---The first session concluded with an awards ceremony and fun
---45 children registered and paid for the second session.
---At the end of the season all equipment was returned, inventoried and
cleaned for next year.
---Sponsorship was received by South Parry Lumber, Parry Sound
Insurance Brokers, Canadian Tire and 4 Sports.

YEAR 2 - 2018/19 SEASON
---The program was kept essentially the same as the previous season,
with the addition of devising a method to deal with children who were
returning to the program for a second year. As it would be evident
by the second year of hockey that the child was committed to the
program, the financial risk to the parent of enrolling the child was
decreased, thus a registration fee would be appropriate.
---The program was advertised on social media and on the Hockey
Club website. Children were registered and sized at 4 Sports
throughout the summer.
---Offered free registration and free equipment for children new to the
program from the start of the season until Christmas break
(December 16th), then $100 to continue from January - March. Can
borrow equipment for the full season. This was kept the same as
the previous season.
---For children entering the program for the 2nd year, there was a $150
registration fee for the full season, and the child can borrow a set of
equipment for the full season.
---77 four to six year olds registered. 46 were first time registrants, and
31 were returning participants to the Mite program, and an additional
8 children from the program last year moved up in the hockey club to
be Tyke players.
---Due to the increased number of participants to the program, and the
large number of second year children (thus larger children),
additional equipment investments were required to outfit all of the
---For the second half of the season (January to March), 31 children
from the first year mite group paid the $100 fee to continue in the
program, and all 33 children from the second year Mite group
continued for the remainder of the season.
---Icetimes were Saturdays from 8:00 - 9:30 and Sundays from 11:00 -
12:30 for the first half of the season. Due to the size of the group,
the children were broken up into Mite 1 (first year participants) and
Mite 2 (second year participants), with each getting a 45 minute
practice on both Saturday and Sunday. Once reaching the second
half of the season, some combined practices were held with the Mite
1 group joining the Mite 2 group.
---The first half of the season concluded with a December year end
party with Zoo To You, balloon twisters, trophies and ice cream
---Jerseys and socks were supplied by Tim Hortons.
---Sponsorships were received from Parry Sound Insurance Brokers
and 4 Sports as well as 2 donations from local citizens.

YEAR 3 - 2019/20
---The program was kept the same as the previous year, with a notable
exception. The geographic borders were eliminated to allow
children from surrounding areas to participate in our program.
---The program fed 31 seven year olds into the Club’s Minor Novice
program. Up from 8 in the previous season.
---67 four to six year olds registered for the Initiation Program. 34 new
participants and 33 returning players.
---22 new players paid the $100 fee to continue with the second half of
the season.
---As a cost cutting measure, there was no mid-season party/awards
---Due to Covid-19 the season terminated early. In August, all
participants were advised of a “drive-by” equipment drop off/awards
pick up event which was held at the BOCC.
