Bantams Win St. Catharines Tournament!
The Richie Insurance Bantam Rep team traveled to St. Catharines this past weekend to compete at the John MacDonald Memorial Tournament.

The team got off to a tough start losing on Friday afternoon in a close game to the Brantford 99ers 2-0. After a quick regroup the boys defeated the Sarnia Jr. Sting 6-1 later that evening. On Saturday the bantams came to the rink knowing they needed two wins in order to advance to Sunday. Saturday afternoon started well with a 6-0 win over the TNT Tornados. The evening game Saturday proved to be stiffer competition with the team holding on for a 1-0 thrilling win over the Kitchener Rangers. Going 3 and 1 in round robin play put the boys into the final on Sunday against a strong Hamilton Huskies squad. After a great back and forth game the Shamrocks prevailed for a 3-1 victory to bring home the championship! The team also had a lot of fun at the tournament away from the rink participating in some team building activities and exploring Niagara Falls. That team mentality showed on the ice with the group coming together, playing solid as a unit and all of the lines chipping in on offence. Jordy Nicksy and Liam Marshall also provided stellar goaltending throughout the weekend posting 2 shutouts and only allowing 4 goals against in 5 games. Way to go Shamrocks!
