MPS weekend in Haliburton
The Optimist Club Novices traveled to Halliburton to compete in their Muskoka-Parry Sound Play Downs.

First game was against the Halliburton Storm.  The game was an exciting one with both teams evenly matched.  Parry Sound were able to hold their own and ended up finishing regulation time in a 3-3.  Overtime was to follow.
The game went to 4 on 4, then 3 on 3, the 2 on 2 before Halliburton was able to score to get the win.

The second game was against the Muskoka Rock.  This was a chippy game.  These two teams have played each other seven times this season with last game won in MacTier quite easily by the Shamrocks.  The Shamrocks were able to win this game 2-1 to gain the win.

The team traveled back to the Bonnie View Inn Resort for the evening, tobogganed, played pool, crokinole and a pot luck before retiring for the evening.

The third game was against the Huntsville Otters Sunday morning.  The Shamrocks needed the win to secure there chances in making the B final.  The Otters upped their game from the last 4-3 win against the Shamrocks winning 7-2 and controlling most of the game out shooting the Shamrocks 20-14.

The fourth game Parry Sound just needed to win or stay out of the Penalty box.  South Muskoka playing a very strong tournament being undefeated played a sound game with strong team play and beat the Shamrocks 5-1.  Parry Sound was able to get some chances and were able to stay out of the penalty box to secure their spot in the B-Final against the Storm.  Muskoka Rock packed up and went home having more penalty minutes then Parry Sound.

The third game of the day and fifth of the weekend proved to be a long game.  The Storm in their home arena, all sleeping in their on beds the night before and only playing their second game of the day ended up beating the Shamrocks to win the B-Final, out shooting the Shamrocks 29-5.  Bram Palmer keeping the Shamrocks in the game only losing 2-1.

OMHA play off begin on January 30th against Huntsville in a best of five series.
