Results of the Schomberg Tournament
The Optimist Club Novices had an exciting weekend tournament in Schomberg at the annual Red and White Tournament.

The first game was Friday afternoon, the boys were pumped to be out of school to play hockey.  What turned out to tie their highest scoring games this season they faced off against the Honeywood Hurricanes
The Shamrocks scored their first goal a little past the half way mark of the first period on an unassisted goal by Brady Ball.  The Hurricanes answered back right away to tie the game, only to have Ball score another goal, assisted by Riley Blower to regain the lead.
The Shamrocks didn't look back.  Goal in the second was scored by Lewis Hergaarden, assisted by Evan Villeneuve.  The third period saw two goals by Mitchell Perrick, assists by Elliot Mahon, Avery Rochon, and Hyatt Black.  The last goal was scored by Nicholas Gray assisted by Evan Villeneuve.

The second game was played against a much stronger opponent.  The East Lambton Eagles has a lot of strong skaters and moved the puck very well.  They limited the Shamrocks to one goal by Hergaarden, assisted by Villeneuve and goal Bram Palmer.  The Shamrocks were out shot 26-8, and lost 6-1

The third game was do or die.  The Shamrocks needed the win to be able to still have chance in making the finals.  The Twin Centre Stars didn't appear to be as strong as the Eagles, however they worked very well as a team.  Shutting out the Shamrocks 6-0, goalie Bram Palmer facing 21 shots.  The Shamrocks only mustering 7 shots.

Overall the weekend end was fun, kids had fun playing mini sticks, swimming the pool and socializing with each other.

The team has a couple of practices this week and their next game is on Thursday in Humphrey against the Muskoka Rock.
